Mohan Chawla is very experienced at carrying out treatment to correct the positions of teeth using invisible braces. He is accredited by the UK based Clearstep system and also Inman Aligner. He is therefore able to offer you a range of options, depending on how severe the crowding is and what your expectations are. What Mohan likes about these braces is that they are very discreet and are therefore far more acceptable to many patients wanting their teeth straightened but not wanting conventional fixed braces. In fact, you hardly notice if someone is wearing a Clearstep positioner. This is why so many people in the public eye, such as TV presenters and actors choose these braces to straighten their teeth. Also, in most cases there are no extractions required and there may be no removal of tooth tissue at all required.
Mohan will assess your mouth and he will find out from you how you want to change the positions of your teeth and he will be able to tell you which system is best for you. In cases where you are suitable for treatment with the Inman aligner, then results can be achieved in as little as 6 weeks!.
The Inman aligner is a hybrid between Invisalign and conventional metal braces. It is not as invisible as Clearstep and is normally for correction of the positions of the front teeth. It is a removable appliance and does not have food and plaque trap difficulties that may be associated with fixed appliance therapy. It is also relatively inexpensive as all the tooth movements are achieved with one single appliance and not a series of positioners which are changed every 2 weeks, as with Invisalign and Clearstep.
The process with Invisalign and Clearstep is very similar. You will be provided with a report giving you your options, detailing the stages of treatment, duration, the type of retention needed at the end of the treatment and the cost.
Most types of mild, moderate and even severe cases can be treated with Clearstep and the duration of treatment usually depends on the severity of the case and the desired outcome. Most cases are treated just by using a series of very thin, clear positioners which are worn over the teeth and changed every 2 weeks or so. Each positioner will move the teeth by a small increment, so there will be a gradual movement of teeth over the months as you go through the series of positioners.
