Dental Veneers |
Treatment with veneers usually requires some tooth preparation although this will vary a lot depending on the specific problem. The amount of tooth reduction is typically 0.6-0.7mm and therefore where possible a veneer will be recommended rather than a crown. A veneer is essentially a very precise restoration that is custom made for your tooth. The tooth is prepared as required and then an impression of your teeth is taken. This is sent to our laboratory for a very high quality handcrafted veneer to be made. You have a temporary veneer made at the chairside while the lab handcrafts the new one; this takes around 10 working days. The dentist matches the colour to the existing teeth or chooses the colour with you if you are having several veneers done and changing the colour for whiter teeth. We use a colour shade guide and show you pictures of teeth to ensure the colour is carefully and out dentists are very experienced to guide you. The veneer is very strong when it has been fixed to the tooth, they are made so precisely that you do not see the joint at the gum and they look very natural.
We provide diagnostic aids like a diagnostic wax up where the veneers can be waxed on a stone model of your teeth so you can see how much tooth preparation is required and see the shapes and sizes of the veneers.
Whilst there are many situations where veneers will be the best option, in cases where you want straighter teeth, braces may be the best option and out experience with invisible braces enables us to discuss these fully with you before you make a decision. Braces have the advantage that there is usually no tooth reduction required, but the treatment time is longer.
The teeth were whitened using a combination technique with Zoom Advance Power surgery whitening followed by 1 week of home whitening . The surgery whitening alone is usually adequate but it depends how white you wants the tooth. I also placed two porcelain veneers, one on the very discoloured tooth ad the other one to change the shape of the tooth.
This case required some soft tissue surgery to alter the position of the gum line. I used four porcelain veneers to put the upper incisors in better alignment, re proportion the size of the teeth and correct the upper left lateral which was rotated

"I have been a patient of Dr. Chawla for the past two years and have been extremely pleased with the level of service I have received along with the professional treatment performed on my teeth, in particular the four veneers on the top front. This cosmetic work has made an immense improvement as well as giving me confidence that all looks well and considerably improved. During all appointments I felt very relaxed and at ease and would certainly recommend Dr. Chawla's ability in the future."

"I wanted to let you know how impressed I am with the treatment you carried out for me!
It has now been 3 years since it was done and I have never had any problems since the day you fitted the veneers. I was about to go ahead with the treatment at Harley Street, when another dentist recommended you to me, and I am so glad that I had
the treatment from you. You and your team put me at ease, explained each step in plain and simple terms, and delivered beyond my expectation. I can now smile without being conscious and lots of people compliment me on my teeth. it has really changed
my life. Thank you !!!"
